Please have books in need of review sent to thepaganpen(at)gmail(dot)com

Attach a pdf of your book if possible, rtf, or doc is fine otherwise.

Also include a cover–200 x 300 or somewhere around that size.

Please include the answers to these questions in the body of your email:

Short & quick copy underneath the explained list:

Author Name:

Are you a Pagan or does the book have Pagan elements?

(Note–this DOES NOT affect the review–it helps us to classify your book, though, in the index and find the correct reviewer. Some reviewers want books written by Pagans or with Pagan influence while some of our reviewers do not!

Our reviews are unbiased and honest.

Reviews will be given a positive/negative type of feedback based on the opinions and

backgrounds of the Reviewers and how they read books.

A review can be 100 % Positive without Negative….

but never 100% Negative.

Every Reviewer here has a preference in Genres.

Every Reviewer chooses the book they wish to read (we do not assign them). Every Reviewer is given the freedom to write their own reviews.

C.H. Scarlett posts the reviews for the Reviewers on the 20th of each month after Rie McGaha checks the format, links, edits, and adds covers.

All reviews are final.

We rate our books from 1-5 Tarots.

(And now we have half scores 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, etc)

We also rate covers 1-10 with explanation of what the Reviewer liked and didn’t. Rating of the covers is based off whether or not it would jump out at the Reviewer and draw them in if the book were sitting on shelf with several others.

It's judge a book by it's cover.

For books:

1 tarot-don’t bother

2 Tarots-borrow it but don’t bother buying it

3 Tarots-take a look, this isn’t too bad at all

4 Tarots-excellent book you should read

5 Tarots-one of the best darn books I've ever read! This book deserves a Pulitzer!

We also have Reviewers Top Pick

Disclaimer:

Those at The Pagan & Pen would like to inform everyone that we are NOT paid to review books. We do not purchase any of the books we review unless it is something we bought for casual reading and felt drawn to comment—in which case we will say so. However, the majority of the books we review are offered up to us by authors hoping to get an honest opinion concerning their work to encourage others to buy such work. We do not work with any publishers.

Occasionally one of us may review a movie but that movie has been bought as a DVD or seen in a theater by the reviewer. The review is more of an opinion not a paid endorsement by any production company. Basically, we are just the average person giving a free opinion. That’s it.

The reviewers at The Pagan & The Pen wish to announce to all authors that we support you in keeping your copyrighted work from being pirated. We will never loan, sell, give away, pass on, or email your work once you send it to us for reviews and once we have finished reviewing, we will permanently delete said work from our computer. Copyright theft of e-books is a growing problem and we are dedicated to doing our part in making sure your work is safe with this site.
